| Welcome to HV/Net!
We hope you will enjoy
your virtual visit to the Hudson River Valley
where you'll find the most friendly people, the
most interesting places, the most fascinating
activities, the most glorious landscape and the
highest concentration of significant historical
locations anywhere in America.
The story of America
started here along the banks of the mighty Hudson
River and grew from here, flowing through the
currents of centuries, developing the streams
of American art, industry, economics, architecture,
politics, education, domesticity, frontier development,
conservation and personal freedom. The American
Revolution coursed across our mountaintops and
waterways pivoting around the axis of the Hudson
Valley, the Industrial Revolution grew from our
tumbling streams and vales, the aesthetic revolution
of Romanticism sprang from our hilltops and gardens,
the opening battles of personal and religious
freedom were fought on our village greens and
the revolution of ecological conservation swept
down from our forests and glens.
The Hudson River Valley
has proven so pivotal in the history of America
it has been declared a National Heritage Area
by the US Congress. They have named it the "landscape
that defined America."
It's all still here
waiting for you to explore and discover! |
